The Kills or VV (Alison Mosshot) & Hotel (Jamie Hine) have created a band which is an expression of everything they experience together; it is a document of themselves. Given a two-day turn-around before the band went off on tour, Mark decided to examine this relationship for the track ‘Love is a Deserter'.
Setting the performance in the claustrophobic space of toe-rag studios, where the band had recorded their first album, and inter-cutting some of the bands personal Super8 footage, Mark created a fractured insight into a relationship with happier times. The ambiguity over how real any of it is feeding directly into the myth of The Kills intimacy.
